JOINT EFFECTS TARGETING SYSTEM (JETS)

Joint Effects Targeting System (JETS) aims to support the Army's fires sensor strategy and aligns with the Army's priorities in line with the National Defense Strategy. The program seeks to provide the individual dismounted observer with an integrated, lightweight, modular capability to detect, identify, and accurately locate targets in three dimensions. Additionally, the JETS TLDS also aims to provide the capability to laser mark and designate targets for weapons platforms and transmit accurate target location coordinates to a forward entry system for engagement with precision munitions. The JETS TLDS is an Army joint information program involving the Air Force and Marine Corps, with an Army Acquisition Objective (AAO) of 3,355.

As part of an Army joint information program involving the Air Force and Marine Corps, JETS has an Army Acquisition Objective (AAO) of 3,355 systems. The program also emphasizes new equipment training and fielding to ensure effective utilization by the active and reserve components of the Armed Forces for homeland defense missions, domestic emergency responses, and military support to civil authorities as mandated by section 1815 of the FY 2008 National Defense Authorization Act (P.L. 110 - 181).
