Ground Mobility Vehicles (GMV)

Ground Mobility Vehicles (GMV) for the Army aims to procure Infantry Squad Vehicles (ISV) and associated kits to support the motorization of Infantry Brigade Combat Teams (IBCT) and the 75th Ranger Regiment. The program's primary objective is to enhance tactical mobility, allowing for rapid movement around the battlefield and supporting crisis response, initial entry, and decisive action missions. The ISV is designed to deploy worldwide by sea, air, and land modes, providing flexibility for entry operations in both permissive and non-permissive environments. Additionally, the program aligns with the National Defense Strategy's goal of increasing forward force maneuver and posture resilience by enabling soldiers to deploy, survive, operate, maneuver, and regenerate in all domains while under attack.

The approved Army Acquisition Objective (AAO) for ISV is 2,593 units. The program's funding allocation for FY 2024 will support the procurement of 143 ISVs and associated kits for Security Force Assistance Brigade (SFAB), contractor System Engineering/Program Management (SEPM), fielding to include Spares, Total Package Fielding (TPF), Interim Contractor Support (ICS), Engineering Change Proposals (ECP) including kits, retrofits, Logistics Development, System Technical Support (STS), and program management to meet base requirements. The ISV is a critical component of the Combat Vehicle Modernization Strategy as its mobility combined with speed substantially increases IBCT tactical employment options and enables rapid deployment of infantry elements to positions of advantage. Additionally, the program is necessary for use by the active and reserve components of the Armed Forces for homeland defense missions, domestic emergency responses, and providing military support to civil authorities in accordance with Section 1815 of the FY 2008 National Defense Authorization Act (P.L. 110-181).
