Description
Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-A) is a critical investment by the Army to provide seamless logistics information to combat forces, ensuring timely and accurate support. The program aims to replace current logistics and maintenance systems with an enterprise approach, streamlining supply, maintenance, accountability, distribution, and reporting procedures. GCSS-Army Increment 1 and 2 consist of three waves, each delivering enhanced capabilities such as enterprise aviation maintenance and logistics, business intelligence/business warehouse functionalities, and the replacement of legacy systems. Additionally, the program includes the deployment of Advanced Manufacturing Data Repository (AdvM DR) to integrate advanced manufacturing capabilities within Army ERPs, reducing manual efforts and ensuring accuracy in product configuration data.
The specific objectives of Program 9875W30001 are to enhance combat forces' operational efficiency by providing seamless logistics information through the replacement of legacy systems with an enterprise approach. This includes streamlining supply, maintenance, accountability, distribution, and reporting procedures in support of the Army's transition to a network-centric future force. The program also aims to deliver enhanced capabilities through three waves of GCSS-Army Increment 2, including enterprise aviation maintenance and logistics improvements, business intelligence/business warehouse functionalities, and the replacement of legacy systems. Additionally, the deployment of Advanced Manufacturing Data Repository (AdvM DR) is a priority to integrate advanced manufacturing capabilities within Army ERPs and automate the transfer of product configuration data.
