Facilities Sustainment - Test and Evaluation Support

Facilities Sustainment - Test and Evaluation Support falls under the Research, Development, Test & Evaluation (RDT&E) Management Support budget activity of the Air Force. The specific goal of this program is to provide resources for sustainment activities required for an inventory of Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) Test and Evaluation (T&E) facilities. This includes regularly scheduled adjustments and inspections, preventative maintenance tasks, and emergency response and service calls for minor repairs. The program also covers major repairs or replacement of facility components that have exceeded their useful life. It supports various Air Force organizations and their associated test and evaluation facilities, including remote locations and specific wings at different Air Force bases.

The objectives of Program PE 0605978F include the inspection and repair of high-power electrical switching gear, hydraulic, lubrication, forced-air and fluid cooling systems, high-pressure vessel health monitoring, facility control and remote monitoring systems, liquid oxygen systems, steam systems, test instrumentation, and fire detection and suppression systems. Additionally, it encompasses sustainment activities such as painting buildings, carpet replacement, heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC) repairs, roof repairs throughout the test groups' facilities. The program also aims to continue the sustainment of test unique infrastructure in Electronic Warfare, Range, and other T&E facilities located at Edwards AFB. These efforts are funded to ensure the readiness and functionality of critical test and evaluation facilities essential for ongoing research, development, test, and evaluation efforts within the Air Force.
