Control and Reporting Center (CRC)

The Control and Reporting Center (CRC) under the Air Force's Research, Development, Test & Evaluation budget activity, aims to modernize and upgrade the BMC2, sensors, and communications systems for the current weapon system construct while designing in modularity to support future Tactical Operations Center-Light and Medium (TOC-L and TOC-M) capability. The CRC is a mobile, ground-based theater air control system employed at the tactical level to provide direct command and control to all air assets in an assigned Area of Responsibility (AOR) and report back to the Joint Force Air Combat Commander (JFACC). The program's objectives include developing long-haul SATCOM capability, prototype testing, and cyber hardening of TS accredited structures and storage solutions in pursuit of emerging technology.

The CRC Modernization initiative consolidates previous upgrade efforts into a coordinated effort focused on upgrading BMC2, sensors, and communications systems for the current weapon system while designing in modularity to support future Tactical Operations Center-Light and Medium (TOC-L and TOC-M) capability. The program aims to continue organic software development, architectural upgrades, hardware architecture modernization upgrades, continuous software development/integration/deployment using Agile DevSecOps processes. Additionally, it will develop prototype testing for long-haul communication capabilities and TS accredited structures and storage solutions. The program also includes the development and integration of applications within the ABMS Cloud-Based C2 portfolio utilizing Agile and DevSecOps processes. These efforts are part of the Air Force's Advanced Battle Management System (ABMS) initiative to provide modular capability to support tactical C2.
