Compass Call

Compass Call is an Air Force initiative aimed at enhancing the wide-area, standoff, Airborne Electromagnetic Attack (AEA) Command and Control Warfare/Information Operations (C2W/IO) weapon system. The program's specific goals include interrupting adversary use of the electromagnetic battlespace and disrupting adversary Radio Frequency (RF) communications, radar, and sensor systems. The procurement funds are required for aircraft purchase, modification kit production, installation, integration engineering, certification, and testing on an EC-37B re-host platform in accordance with the Baseline upgrade schedule. Additionally, the program aims to ensure continued tactical effectiveness by evolving Compass Call's Prime Mission Equipment (PME) to keep pace with emerging adversary developments in communications, radar, and sensor technology.

The Compass Call program involves the procurement and installation of retrofit upgrade kits onto ten air vehicles under Modification Number 1003. It also includes the procurement of air vehicles for re-host under the Aircraft Procurement, Air Force appropriation. The program's objectives encompass activities associated with aircraft system integration, assembly, test and checkout; change management; engineering change orders; certification; non-developmental mission system upgrades; simulator and training system upgrades and modifications; external communications upgrades and modification; software integration and updates; systems engineering; test and evaluation; training; support equipment; obsolescence; Program Support Costs (PSC); aircraft PME retrofits; and baseline upgrades and enhancements. The program employs an incremental Baseline upgrade acquisition strategy to ensure each iteration of the weapon system is effective against the highest priority threats.
