Description
The Automated Data Processing Equipment (ADPE) program supports the Army's sustaining base automation systems. The primary goal of this program is to provide combat service support to the Warfighter in the areas of command and control, personnel, training, and other sustaining base functions. It aims to maintain a stable modernization program essential for maintaining efficiency, increasing productivity, and reducing operation and maintenance costs through technological advancement. The program aligns the use of automation technology to consolidate, streamline, and modernize management information systems to support Command, Control, Communications, Computers (C4) for the Warfighter, power projection strategies, battle space awareness, Army Transformation, and downsized force structures.
The ADPE program also includes specific initiatives such as the Interactive Personnel Electronic Records Management System (iPERMS), which supports the Army's military personnel management mission by providing a Records Management Application for the Army Military Human Resource Record. Additionally, it supports various headquarters and strategic command centers by providing life cycle replacement of video teleconferencing environments at Army agencies in the Pentagon and National Capital Region. It also provides core C4 infrastructure for Joint, Coalition and Interagency C4 capabilities at Army and Army supported command centers. These objectives aim to enhance communication capabilities while reducing costs associated with travel and temporary duty travel. Overall, the ADPE program aims to ensure standardization, interoperability, and systemic replacement of equipment that is obsolete due to technology changes, reliability, and serviceability.
