South 8 Technologies, Inc., has developed an extremely safe battery with exceptional performance from -80 C to +60C which solves for the first time many of the current deficiencies that DOD has seen in currently available energy storage devices. Our Liquefied Gas Electrolyte (LGE) chemistry can be used in energy storage devices including; rechargeable batteries (Li-ion), primary batteries, and ultracapacitors. South 8 Technologies also performs research and engineering services for mechanical design and manufacture of devices using LGEs. Our patented technology allows for a substantial increase energy and as mentioned an exceptionally wide operating temperature from -80 C to +60C. Additionally, thermal runaway issues prevalent in current Li-ion batteries are eliminated with LGE. We focus on creating safe, high-energy devices that maintain performance even in the most extreme environments suitable in a variety of transportation, grid storage, and aerospace applications.
